Rehabilitation Services for Cats and Dogs
If your dog or cat is struggling with joint conditions or injuries, our rehabilitation services can help. Veterinary rehabilitation comes with many benefits for your pet, including:
- Faster healing after an injury or surgical procedure
- Improved mobility of an injured limb
- Higher quality of life, particularly for pets with chronic conditions
As a non-drug therapy, rehabilitation is a great alternative for pets that can’t tolerate certain medications. It’s often paired with other types of treatment, including exercise, nutrition plans, and home modifications. Medication and rehabilitation work well together, too.
Our team will create a customized treatment plan based on both your pet’s needs and your goals for your pet’s health.
What Conditions Does Veterinary Rehabilitation Treat?
Veterinary rehabilitation can help treat a range of conditions in dogs and cats.
These include:
- Osteoarthritis
- Recovery from Orthopedic Surgery
- Soft tissue injuries
- Spinal cord injuries
- Joint injuries
- Wounds
Conditions like these can be more common in older pets, but we see pet patients of all ages for our rehabilitation services.
Types of Rehabilitation
Our skilled team offers several types of rehabilitation to help your pet overcome debilitating health conditions.
- Therapeutic exercises: Can improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination, and can even slow the progression of disease.
- Manual therapy: This type of therapy can include several techniques, including passive range of motion, massage, and joint mobilization. These techniques can allow for greater joint movement and provide significant pain relief.
- Pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy: Uses pulsing electromagnetic fields to speed healing, reduce inflammation, and provide pain relief. Our clinic has a large PEMF mat, which your pet will lie down on for a specific amount of time during treatment.
- Laser therapy: Uses light energy to stimulate tissue repair and manage pain. Laser therapy is especially helpful for alleviating muscle and joint pain, relieving arthritis symptoms, relaxing muscle spasms, and increasing blood flow to a specific area.
- Thermotherapy: This therapy uses heat and cold to help improve your pet’s health. Heat can help increase blood flow and relax the muscles, and it’s often used before helping your pet stretch to improve range of motion. Cold can decrease inflammation and reduce pain.
What Is Included in a Treatment Plan?

Schedule a Rehabilitation Consultation
Dr. Green is available for consultation appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. You can call the clinic, email us, or text us to set up an appointment.
We also welcome referrals from your primary veterinarian, but referrals are not necessary to schedule an appointment. We are always happy to collaborate with your primary veterinarian as needed to ensure continuity of care for your pet.
Once your pet’s therapy plan is in place, follow-up rehabilitation consultations are done every 4–8 weeks to monitor progress and assess for any therapy changes that may be needed.
